Sample deliveries for integration testing

To test whether your production deliveries are compatible with Spotify, please send us a small set of valid samples generated by your normal production system.These deliveries will not be ingested into Spotify’s catalogue, so test content is fine, but the files should be generated exactly as they would be for a real delivery.

Minimum Requirements:

Using a consistent GTIN, please send:

  1. The complete book:

    Full ONIX and all assets normally delivered for a new title. Ideally, assets include ‘optional’ assets, such as a sample audio file and supplemental PDF.

  2. One or more metadata updates: Complete replacement ONIX for normal changes, such as a price change, availability change, descriptive metadata correction, or takedown.

    1. In email, please let us know what specific changes we should be testing for.

  3. A takedown:

    Inactivate the title (can be ONIX metadata only).

Optional Additional Samples:

Delivery of additional variants of books will help us ensure that your live feed will go live with minimal ingestion issues.If they are easy to provide, please send any different delivery package or message your system generates for:

  • replacing chapter audio;

  • adding or replacing a cover;

  • adding or replacing preview or sample audio;

  • adding or replacing a supplement, such as a PDF;

  • any other normal change not covered above.

For any example you choose to send, please include a short description of the intended change.Spotify will run the files through its validation systems to identify any compatibility issues. The results will help us determine whether your systems need to be adjusted before onboarding.
