Do You Allow Multiple Video Mappings Per Audio Track?
Spotify supports multiple video mappings to a single audio track via both Spotify for Artists and DDEX deliveries. This enables scenarios such as mapping both an Official Music Video and a Dance Video to the same audio track.
This applies to exact associations only. This means that the videos must contain identical audio to the track they are mapped to (e.g., Official Music Video, Dance Video, etc). At this time Spotify still does not support the delivery of Visualizers and Lyric Videos.
Which video will surface when a user selects "Switch to Video?"
Spotify's algorithm determines which video is displayed based on the following factors:
Whether the video is an official music video (DDEX-delivered videos take precedence if both are the same type of video)
Explicitness matching between the video and audio track
Delivery method (DDEX-delivered videos take precedence over Spotify for Artist uploaded videos)
Important: Spotify is unable to manually curate or override which video appears in the "Switch to Video" experience. Only standard add and remove mapping operations are supported. There is no ability to select or guarantee a specific video will be served to listeners when multiple mappings exist.
