Why's your release not live or is held in review?

Your release may not show live due to takedowns from Spotify or from your end or if it is Held In Review.

To ensure a swift response, please verify if you or your colleagues have received any takedown notifications from Spotify. If so, kindly reply directly to the notification thread. Alternatively, you can contact the appropriate Spotify team for assistance.

Your release could be held in review if it contains an artist from the Spotify Artist Watchlist

  1. For this, please check if the release appears in the Held In Review section in your Spotify for Music Providers tool

  2. If yes, click on “Artist Watchlist” under “Reason” to see which artist the release is blocked for

  3. Confirming your rights for the release in “Actions→ click on the 3 dots→ Request Approval→ Select the appropriate option→ Submit request”

  4. Your submission will be reviewed by Spotify

  5. Once unblocked, the release will no longer be available in your Held In Review tab

  6. If you do not see the release in the Held In Review section, please check if you have received a take down notification
